Lets see where to begin! My job is great and it has given me soooo much confidence and I finally feel like I am doing what God has meant me to be doing even though I feel like I am doing the jobs of 6 people. Though things right now are a bit frustrating and stressed because we are getting new computers to replace our really old ones and are having lots of trouble getting things up and running again. I sometimes feel kinda frustrated from it all because of the three of us on staff I am the one who has the most computer experience and it is mainly just self taught, so I am the one they seem to be leaning on for this upgrade. It is so hard for me too because we are going from really old, dare I say ancient even, programmes and I can't get them working with the newer software. Finally, I said to my boss, I just can't get this to work ... we need a tech here to get us sorted out ... so she agreed and we should have someone there on Friday from the place where we purchased the computers from come and help us.

We hired our first summer student and she started this week and so far she is great! It is so wonderful to have a summer student who is actually interested in the work that they do and wants to use the opportunity to expand all their skills. We finally got word (after the stupid government turned down student grant funding to most of the museums in the country) that the student grant programme had been reasssesed and that we would get a second student ... guess Steven Harper changed his mind before the whole cultural sector marched en masse on parliament hill. I couldn't believe that at first none of the museums in the whole province of New Brunswick we were hearing from on the listservs were granted summer student funding! Anyways, we got a second call and were granted for a second student, so they start later in June.

Miriam and Liv are doing great. Sparks is done for another year, just a pizza party and then advancement night to do. This weekend should be fun! It is apple blossom time again so the festival here kicks off tomorrow and Saturday is parade day. This year the Sparks, Brownies and maybe a few guides are going to enter the children's parade. It will be loads of fun. We made pom poms last week for the girls to shake and cheer and sing with as we walk along! Miriam is really looking forward to the whole thing!

MOm and Dad are jetting off to Ottawa as a surprise retirement gift for my mom. She is retiring from her job on Friday after working in the same place for 46 and a half years! The staff all got together and presented her with an all expense paid overnight trip to Ottawa to see the Ottawa Senators play a game on home ice in the Stanley Cup. My Mom is a HUGE senator fan and when this gift was given to her she practically fainted there in the store! I am so happy and proud of her!

Well off to decompress after the day and watch some mindless tv.

Blessings to all
