Call me Ace

Ooooh, my first ever live journal. What to say, what to say? I know, I'll brag. Ok, so here goes..

I have 2 wonderful sons (5 and 2) - even though they are often the bane of my existence. My youngest is the quiet type and i just know he's going to be the kid that always causes trouble but will never get caught. he is very charismatic for a two year old - which makes it very difficult to punish him. for example - whenever he does something naughty and i say "NO!" he just gives me the puppy-dog eyes and meekly says "cuddle?". Damn him the cute little bugger. My oldest son is gifted. and i'm not exaggerating or saying that just to brag, he's been tested, it's true. he will be starting school this year but he's been able to read and write since just before his third birthday. He can also surf the internet, name the capital city of any country, tell you what 13x169 (for example) is off the top of his head, and can recite the entire Monty Python's Holy Grail movie from start to finish with a british accent and everything. but his favourite pastime is sports (just like dad) and is quite good at golf. In fact, he idolises Tiger Woods and says he wants get rich so he can buy me some pink golf clubs and a house with a golf course so we can play together (I hate golf!). whew! that was a lot to type.

Next on the agenda -

Me. i have an honours degree in archaeology and art history/history and will hopefully have finished my phd in the next few years (part time, of course - kids keep me busy). I loooove reading and writing fanfiction on owl.tauri.org, and watch Red Dwarf episodes every night to get to sleep (insomnia). well, i did watch it until my 2 year old played frizbee with all 8 series including the bonus disks and snapped or scratched them beyond repair. at 50 bucks a pop that's 400 bucks worth down the drain! *fumes at the thought*

husband - married for 6 years. my husband is an archaeologist who is a total sports fanatic (complete opposite to me in that regard) and lacks any kind of logic. his motto is 'if it seems easy, that must be the wrong way to do it.' he insists on doing all things the hard way because cannot permit himself to believe that the logical/easy way is the right way. for example - he tried to help my dad (who is a builder) on a renovation project and this is what he did in one week - collapsed a roof onto his own head, hit my dad's hand with a sledge hammer, bury his wedding ring under three feet of concrete, and drove a nail through his own hand. point proven.

So, that's my story, thanks for watching. tune in next week for the continuation of my saga.

P.S btw, for anyone wondering about the name... Kryten (the series 4000 mechanoid in Red Dwarf) us unable to be disrespectful or insult people due to his programming. so, whenever he tries to call someone (ie. Rimmer)a Smeg Head, all that comes out is smeee heee.

eg. Kryten: Sir, you're a smeeee.
Rimmer: A smee?
Kryten: A smeeeeee heeeeee.
Rimmer: A smeee heee?
Kryten: A complete and total one.
