I pose a question to our loyal (if nonexistant) readers...

Every year, about 1.5 trillion dollars is donated to the search to find a cure for cancer. Almost one half the national debt is donated every single year to a noble cause. But the question must be posed. Where is our cure? We are no closer than we were 10 years ago. So where does approxomatly FIFTEEN TRILLION dollars go? Where does all this money go? Who spends it? Who decides what laboratory to give it to? Are we even looking for the cure anymore? In all honesty, would it be that good if we found it? Think about this, companys all over the country make millions a year in pure, tax-free, no questions asked, profit. What would happen if they found this cure? All of a sudden the well dries up. I pose this then. I beleive that there already is cure for cancer. I beleive that the wonder pill is already here. But the drug companies and the charites don't want to release it for fear of the lack of profits they would receive. No more donations. No more research grants. No more expensive experimental treatments. And they wouldn't even be able to jack up the price of the cure because the government would step in and put a price cap on that sucker. And this is just for cancer. Think about AIDS, HIV, Breast Cancer, Muscular Dystrophy, Genital Herpes. All of the companies "doing research" receive fat checks from the government and well meaning people, as well as the few honest charities left for all of these diseases. WHERE DOES THIS MONEY GO? We haven't cured one case of AIDS and we've spent trillions on how to figure this sucker out. For a a fraction of that much (inflation included) we sent a man to the frikkin' moon. Surely we'd have figured out how to kill something the size of an atom by now, shouldn't we? We shouldn't be racing to find a cure, we should be racing to take it.
