Happy Solstice, House!

The title quote is the only solstice quote I could think of off the top of my head, lol. That, and "Stonehenge" by Spinal Tap.

Today is officially summer, whoo-hoo! It is my humble opinion that nobody appreciates summer quite like us Canadians. We only get about two months (June and July), since by August it already starts to get a little cooler at night and the days get a little shorter. But these two months are glorious.

So here are a few of the reasons why I love summer, in no particular order:
Bare feet or sandals instead of shoes (unless I am at work, in which case I ditch my shoes as soon as I finish). I try to wear sandals as early as March or April and as late as October or November, but keeping my feet warm eventually wins out over my hatred of socks and shoes.
Fun, bright-colored clothes
Going outside without three or four extra layers of clothing
Tim Horton's iced cappuccinos (that's a Canadian coffee chain, kind of like Dunkin' Donuts). I walk home from work with one almost every day when it's hot out.
Long, hot, sunny days. I love stepping outside and feeling the air wrap around me.
The color of the sky. It's so blue, it almost looks tropical. In winter it's usually a washed-out grey.

So yeah. Hope everyone else is enjoying the summer so far as much as I am! :)
