RTD vs The Fans - aka me amusing myself ....

Jul 30, 2009 16:16

This is something I was writing in reply to a comment by candi_apple_red, but it got a bit out of hand ... [and, really, I just amused myself ...]

I finally forced myself to watch day 5 of COE today so I was in desperate need of fluff (because WTF kind of depressing crap WAS that??).

How darling Russell may answer this question .... [IM style] )

Bwahaha Oh that's so made of win.

Speaking of God Joss Whedon. Funnily enough I still like him a lot.

I like him too. He acknowledged that killing Tara upset the fans and why they reacted like they did, but he made use of her death and made up for it in the last couple of seasons - without Tara's death we wouldn't have had Dark Willow etc. He ultimately, eventually redeemed himself.

RTD just made Jack ... well ... what did Jack do? Sat in a little room for a bit and felt sorry for himself, then tortured his grandson using someone else's theory.

And like I said: Whedon appreciates and realises the importance of the fanbase - particularly and established and devoted one. RTD just keeps congratulating himself - he didn't even thank the fans at comicCon, I heard (I don't know if that's true, just what I heard).

Oops. My "I still like Whedon" comment got a little long LOL

Exactly.

I said sometimes during Buffy and especially after the end of Angel that I hated him lol but...when he hurts you, he manages to make it better again somehow or makes sense of what happens.

And yes he appreciates fans and doesn't make them feel stupid.

Wouldn't be surprised if RTD hadn't done that. He doesn't need fans.

Haha I was about to write a whole big explanation thing why (similar to what you wrote) and then thought that it's not a Joss is still God topic. Ahem well...

Anyway...still willing to watch stuff that's done by JW... RTD...no thanks. Still not sure about the last DW specials, as much as I love Ten, the thought of Jack being all fine and flirting with everything that walks makes me want to vomit like the 456.

i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you,

more than obvious that the over-emotional bombardment that was Days 4 and 5 just distracted from the fact there were so many plot holes it was like a Rift through the script.

right on sista!

The last line made me LOL! That was great and your logic was very, um... logical. :) This just makes RTD look like an idiot, which amuses me greatly considering what he did to Ianto.

(And yes, I know Ianto is only a fictional character, but never before have I had such devotion to a TV character. I liked all the characters on Buffy and I was sad when Tara was killed, but it was NOTHING compared to how devastated I was with Day 4 & 5 of COE.)

Also, this reminds me that I need a Joss Whedon icon...
