1. It’s based on an iconic horror movie
Shows based on horror classics have recently found the way on our screen and into our hearts. Damien is yet another one. This adaption of the 70’s classic horror movie The Omen - is different. Damien tells the story of Damien Thorn, the now 30-year-old war photgrapher, and his route towards and into his own darkness.
NBC’s Hannibal was based on the Thomas Harris novel “The Red Dragon” from 1981.

A&E’s Bates Motel is an adaption from the 1960’s classic Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock.
2. Episodes are loaded with events that will want to make you scream at your TV.
Whatever path you’d expect a show about the antichrist to take, Damien doesn’t. Unexpected events and plot-twists lurk around every corner, making it completely unpredictable.
They casually introduced a gay main character without making a big deal out of it. In fact, it was so subtle, some might have missed it. Let’s hope this character makes it out alive.
6. It doesn’t fail to deliver the chills!

Thus you’ll increase your stamina by taking the stairs, save water by showering instead and develop careful drinking habits. Damien also features horrific hospital atmosphere, a lot of symbolism and creepy side characters.

Sensitive topics are approached without the usual romanticizing - there’s no glitz and glamour shown towards war and mental illness.
