Bradley James, the star of “Damien,” joked that it wasn’t much of a stretch to play the anti-Christ in A&E’s upcoming drama.
“I was already in a dark place, and managed to use it as a cathartic experience,” the actor joked while with TheWrap’s Stuart Brazell in the latest episode of “Drinking With the Stars.” “No acting required.”
A continuation of “The Omen,” the series picks up 25 years after the 1976 film’s conclusion.“The last time we saw Damien, he was a little 5-year-old boy,” James said. “He wasn’t too aware of the fact he was the anti-Christ. We pick it up with him being a 30-year-old man … he’s aware that there’s a sort of darkness that seems to follow him around.”
James also promised that the series, which he describes as having come from “the warped mind of Glen Mazzara,” will stay “relatively” true to the film in terms of tone. On working with the “Walking Dead” creator, the actor only had nice things to say: “I have no horror stories about him, other than the ones he’s written.”
