Just in case someone looks for USB mic: BIRD UM1 (around E50, woodbrass.com) uses an electret capsule of 16 mm size (NOT 34 mm as advertised at
https://www.woodbrass.com/micros-usb-et-ipad-%20-iphone-bird-instruments-um1-p155970.html), a very reasonable made enclosure, an USB interface based on CM6327a (
https://www.micros.com.pl/mediaserver/info-uicm6327a.pdf, no discrete amplifying stage - the other chip is EEPROM). Reasonable quality sound with very significant noise (typical for 16mm electret microphones), probably OK for speech if places close to the mouth... [Update: Woodbrass.com told me that they will give the money back, since, as they explained, the production model changed without changing the description in the advertisement and box. Nice!]
