I suppose it isn't my fault that the island has a track record of causing strange and chaotic things to happen, but I do apologize for being equally unpredictable

Might as well. You did look after me when I was affected.
When I was ten, I was kidnapped by someone from Malkuth. When I was found, I couldn't remember anything. Not like here, though -- I had to relearn to walk and talk and everything.
I can understand a traumatic event leading to amnesia, especially where the bad experience itself is concerned, but can it really affect basic motor skills like that...?
[Tear is not good at making people feel any better, no. Although now she feels like it's her responsibility to explain herself from before.]

((OOC: Going mostly off the Tales of Fandom version because it's more epic/detailed/TeartotallystabsVan.))
I guess I do owe him an explanation.
That would be a long and complicated story, so I'll try to summarize.
It happened after I had returned home from my training in Daath. At least this is what I'm assuming, since it had been a goal of mine since I decided I wanted to become an Oracle Knight to go to the school there.
I found that my brother had also recently arrived. He didn't come home often, so I went to meet him and overheard him talking to my combat instructor.
Major Legretta was telling Van that someone named Asch might be getting suspicious of their plans.
Then Van said 'He'll cause trouble if he learns that the people of the Outer Lands will be annihilated.'
I thought they must be planning something terrible, so I confronted them on the spot, and...
I immediately confronted Van about it. He denied it at first, of course. I don't understand most of what he said, and I'm not even sure if I understood it back then, but he kept going on and on about needing to "release people from the Score".
He told me not to go to the Outer Lands, and when I refused to agree, he asked me what I'd do if he really was going to do something terrible. He asked me if I'd be able to kill him.
People don't just go around asking things like that when they have nothing to hide, and besides...

Sorry about that.

I was naive back then, and it made me conceited.

But if there's something on your mind, I'm not opposed to listening if you need to get it off your chest.
[She's actually surprised she's not being interrogated yet.]

Well, Daath is in the Outer Lands. I assume this "Malkuth" that you mentioned is as well.
Basically if you can see the sunshine and the sky, I imagine you'd be in the Outer Lands.
