(for phèdre) come see, come try!

The wannabe shop looks much better, now that Favrielle had the time and energy to focus on making it... professional. It's a far cry from what she used to have in the City of Elua, yet it's presentable enough. There's plenty of room in the middle now, for customers to be able to walk by clothed in her new creations, and the fold Tsuzuki installed ( Read more... )

Phedre does come along, and she has a basket full of wonderful leftovers which Nellas graciously agreed to share. She's again wearing one of the weathered modern summer dresses which she picked up from Harbard Celine so very long ago.

She knocks on the door, smiling and quite happy to see Favrielle again - though she knows the fittings will probably raise some questions.

Sorry it took a while, I've been kind of overwhelmed myself. >.>

Favrielle was just examining a pile of fabric, trying to figure out how to sort it: should it be by color, should it be by pattern -- when she hears the knock. So she jumps up and runs to pull the handle, almost tumbling over Phedre in the process.

"Comtesse!" She's just sligtly put off, as she imagines this won't be 100% smooth, but then again. "Come in, it's good to see you!"

No worries, look at me. And now I got sick as well ;__;.

Phedre can't help but laugh at this, and if Favrielle allows, she'll give her the kiss of greeting.

"It's lovely to see you as well," she replies, fondly. "Is this a bad time?"

Oh noes! I hope you're taking care of yourself?

Favrielle allows, and returns in a bit of a distracted manner, swiftly striding back to her fabric pile. "Do sit down, comtesse - somewhere. I trust you're skilled enough to find a -- strategic place," she teases. "And tell me you did bring the food; piling up fabric does make you surprisingly hungry."

I will survive. I've been through two very bad days, but now it looks like I'm better.

Phedre grins, and proffers the basket. "Of course," she replies. "A young lady here had prepared a feast, which I thought you might want to partake in, despite your busy schedule."

She'll bother with finding a seat later.

I'm so sorry - I hope you keep on getting better. &hearts Did you get my email?

She takes the basket gladly and places it on a small table somewhere. Looking around for mismatched chairs, she'll talk to Phedre while busy with her hunt. "How thoughtful - I think I actually met her, truly. An odd appearance, yet very kind, indeed she was." She drags a chair closer to the table. "You may sit here if you find it fit; if not there's always the bed - or any pile of fabric, I guess," she sighs.

Yes I did, I was en train de answering it XD

"She's a very sweet girl," with a crush on my son the size of Skaldia, she doesn't add. "And a lovely cook. I hope you will forgive my laziness, but it's probably for the best - you know I was never the good cook."

Phedre finds a place to sit, then. "Favrielle, have you slept at all as of late?"

Oh, good. I was looking frantically in le inbox and je le trouve pas and j'etais le worried.

(Yay for Frenglish XD)

"Aye, I remember that," she nods, then finally throws herself unceremoniously on a pile of fabric and throws herself over the basket. "I was starving, did I mention that?" She helps herself and keep talking and chewing at the same time. "Sleep? Yes -- of course -- sometimes. You know, comtesse, that geniuses have very little need of sleep, am I not right? And I do hope -- you came here -- with a list of requests; I need someone to start wearing my creations -- for people to admire them and understand -- what's it about."

There were two Quebecois at a museum today, I could barely understand a word of what they were saying >.>

"A list of requests, Favrielle?" She shakes her head, smiles a little. "This is not the city of Elua, where one must be concerned about what they wear at court - I have been rather inconspicuous about my dress. But I will wear what you wish - only --"

She's been nibbling delicately at some cold meat. "-- there is only one thing, Favrielle."

Yeah, the accent can throw some people off - I'm lucky to have both, since my mother's French, and I can talk with both.

Favrielle eyes her critically; her upper lip curls.

"You will wear what I say, indeed, comtesse, and for your own sake. Damn it, otherwise it would be a waste of beauty - and of my time and talent - so, forget about noy having to live up to standards. We can make the standards, and that's that."

But she's curious. "Aye? Do tell me, then!"

^^ Even the French guide was very much taken aback and made the guy repeat the sentences twice. But now I'm fascinated so I'll start watching Quebecois videos on YouTube or something.

"Favrielle, there will be no more designs like that which you made for me all those years ago," she tells her quietly. "That is something I cannot negotiate upon."

And if Favrielle has been paying attention, it's true that all of Phedre's simple dresses have a rather uncharacteristically high-rising back.

*snork* If you catch TV5, you can sometimes get Quebecois shows... with French subtitles. XD

"Do tell me, then. I know how you enjoy wit and word games, but you should also know how my patience is short -- so tell me what happened that made you change your mind and your style alike."

Oui, I have TV5 back home, I should check them out ^^.

A beat, then. "I told you that Melisande Shahrizai was even more dangerous here than she was in Terre d'Ange," Phedre starts slowly.

"She had hold of me, once - my marque is no longer what it used to me."

Heee, well, poke me when you're home, and I'll look at the schedule to try and point those out for you. &hearts

Favrielle frowns and forgets to swallow.

"I beg your pardon --? What do you mean?"

Sure thing, thanks so much, lovely!

"It is a long story," she says softly, and pauses completely in her meal. "Melisande wanted an assignation - she was wanted for terrible deeds she had performed here, and I offered myself as bait. Yet everything went awry."

Favrielle pales, which makes her freckles show in a higher contrast on her complexion. "And --" she swallows, "-- what happened, exactly?"
