My new job allows for ample reading time, which makes me happier than if it made me Queen of Doughnuts. Which sounds nice, but I just made it up, so it's not a real thing to wish, hope and dream for ( Read more... )

You should totally read A Separate Peace if you haven't already. It's by John Knowles. I LOVE that book. :)

I like any and all Max Perkins references. He was a super hero editor who kept Fitzgerald and Hemmingway in line.

Without him they both floundered like a super hero stabbed with a kryptonite switchblade.

Careful Noah! No more hurting yourself! I don't care how emo you are!

Come on, David Emblidge is secretly your hero. That class wasn't like kindergarten in the least!

Mr. Perkins had his work cut out for him. Fitzgerald was always weeping, Hemingway was always getting in fights and Wolfe just brought in wheel barrels full of writing.

Perkins must have had to yell at them and beat them on a regular basis.

Don't sell yourself short. You ARE the regent of Doughnuts. To prove this fact, I am going to make a deck of cards that has the suit of doughnuts, and do you know whose face will be on the Queen of Doughnuts card??? YOU.

Also, you make me want to get a library card. PRONTO!

Christmas music, anyone?

Imaginary card decks are extra funny! I am so proud to be royalty!

I have a book problem. I should probably go to the library, but I buy all my books at the bookjail or the GoodWill (where they are $0.79!).

Christmas Music! I can't wait until the new Christmas album comes out this year with all new custom artwork.

A note about the mysterious garment I left on your bed:
I don't know what the fuck that is. Who do these people think they are reinventing clothing like that by sewing rectangles and cutting holes? 'Oh, look how low on labor this... um... thing is!' They sent me it as a free sample and I believe it was listed as a shirt dress. I might use it as a pillow case. Good thinking roomie!
ps- Yay for your voracious book reading appetite!

That dress/shirt/pillowcase is not build for normal girls. A young lady would have to be a size negative four to look hot in that rag. I did try it on, but it barely covered my...anything.
