Tuesday before thanksgiving break should be a peaceful, unwinding day right?! Wrong! It seems like I have been bombarded from left to right ALL DAY LONG.
Powderpuff shirt distribution this morning was slightly more thrilling than triple bypass. No one knew about it, certain people didn't want them, no one had their money, blah blah blah. The real gem in this bevy was the fact that the iron-on letters for the last names on the back of the shirt were falling off, pretty much on just mine, and I think Babbish's, other than that no one had problems with the lettering. Oh the irony.
The food drive was mass chaos as well. We tried to collect at homeroom, but Frankhart was coralling students into classrooms to listen to announcements...thanks for your excellent guidance, Jack. So I went to 5th hour, whipped through a religion test, and asked Rennpage to go finish this monument of a task. I basically said "Can we go and finish collecting food for charity?" and he was like "I need more convincing" so I laid on a death stare, and said "please." so after straining muscles and breaking a sweat, everything got to the SLEC office. Half the battle. They had to be counted and tallied, and ultimately distributed. Well I wanted to get that done as soon as possible because I needed to run home after school. That was ridiculously hard, and I was working right through our "senior feast." Which completely bums me out because I had every intention of participating. I contributed by bringing plates and cups, setting things up...and the bell rings and everyone is walking out of the cafeteria saying how great and memorable their lunch was. That's exactly what I needed. Just one more thing to make me even more marginalized than I already am. I'm pissed, but providing dinner for someone else kinda eased my disappointment a little.
Thanks mucho to Gary who drove everything over to the Judson Center for me. Except when we got back, Mr. Donaldson was putting a bunch of food into a box, one that fell out of the back. So I ended up going back to Judson, then home. I raced back to Shrine for the game, why is beyond me. Froze my tail off, had a ton of laughs with Holly at Coney Island, and now I'm here - miserable, and laughing about it.
I gotta run, happy thanksgiving y'all!
