Well, perhaps he wasn't a terribly good writer, and even less of an intellectual, and I really don't mean this with any disrespect as not everyone can be expected to be talented, and I suppose it's to his credit how he made that limited talent stretch etc., but all said and done he was famous, and had he been British would probably have been knighted, and he lived to a ripe old age, so I figure it's worth mentioning.
