Character Name: Lelouch Vi Britannia

Time Period: Up to Turn 25 (the whole series)
Age: 18
Gender: male
Species: human
Number: 117
Personality:
Not exactly sane. Detached at first glance, he is actually good at nurturing relationships in general. Overprotective of the people he loves - he will do everything in his power to protect/revenge them, such as traveling a long road to perdition with no return ticket.
He finds it difficult to relate to people he is not close to. A talented strategist and a resolute murderer, he is capable of horrible crimes if he thinks they are necessary. Conversely, he is capable of loving deeply, completely and without limitations. Later, he becomes a wiser version of himself, willing to make sacrifices for a more general good and simultaneously shelter those he holds dear. He wants very much to live.
Background: Background: (SPOILERS to the whole series.)
Lelouch Vi Britannia, the 17th Prince of Britannia, was described as “kind and smart” when he was a little boy and as a “demon emperor” when he became an adult. He is the 11th child of the Emperor of Britannia, the ruler of an Empire that governs 2/3 of his alternate world. When Lelouch was ten years old, his mother was murdered in front of him. The same incident rendered his little sister Nunnally blind and crippled for life. When Lelouch demanded action from his father, he was ignored and used as a political tool instead, being sent to Japan with his sister as hostages. Lelouch has always been protective of his sister, but after the incident she became the very axis of his existence and his reason to become stronger and tougher than he really was by nature.
In his exile, he met the Japanese Prime Minister’s son - Kururugi Suzaku - who became his first and best friend and for a while, Lelouch was genuinely happy. But Britannia later invaded Japan and Lelouch and his sister Nunnally were separated from Suzaku by the war.
They meet again seven years later in an occupied and colonized Japan - now Area 11. The royal siblings are living in hiding under false identities, officially dead. Suzaku has become a soldier for the Britannian army. At the same time, Lelouch comes across an immortal, mysterious woman called C.C., who gives him a “Geass” of absolute command - the power to make any person obey a command of his no matter what it takes, as long as he looks this person in the eyes. Lelouch uses this power to unleash a rebellion to free Area 11 and eventually destroy Britannia as the masked terrorist Zero. After many deaths, horrible losses, world trauma, and finding out the truth about his parents, Lelouch becomes Emperor of Britannia - now an Empire encompassing the whole globe - and Suzaku becomes his knight. As the “Demon Emperor”, Lelouch purposely becomes “a symbol of hatred” - a tyrant his divided, cruel world can reject and unite against. Nobody knows that since the beginning of his short reign of terror, he has plotted his own assassination by the hands of his best friend in order to bring about a more peaceful era.
