Timeline
- August 20th 1984 Nakatsu Shuichi is born at a hospital in Osaka, Japan.
- February 22nd 1985 Kayashima Taiki is born at a hospital in Sendai, Japan.
- 1989: When Shuichi is four his mother becomes the CEO of her family’s business; Shuichi is raised by his grandmother most of the time. When he’s old enough to take care of himself he lives alone.
- 1995: When Taiki is 10 his mother dies of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 33. Environmental factors are suspected to be the cause.
- 1997: At 12 years old Taiki is sent off to boarding school. He only sees his father three times after that.
- 1998: Shuichi’s grandmother dies when he is 14 years old.
- 1998: 2nd year of Junior High Yamura Akio befriends a reluctant Taiki.
- 2000: Shuichi is 16 and Taiki is 15 when they enter Ohsaka. Dorm 2, Room 203.
- 2000: Four months into their first year of high school Yamura Akio spreads rumors about Taiki’s abilities. Shuichi stands up to the bullies for him.
- 2001: Ashiya Mizuki enrolls at Ohsaka halfway through the first year. Shuichi thinks she’s a boy but loves her anyway.
- 2002: Middle of their 2nd year at Ohsaka, Shuichi (17 yrs old) is accused of cheating on an exam. His dream of a soccer career is nearly ended.
- Shuichi realizes he’s lost Ashiya to Sano.
- Last day of the 2nd year of high school it is revealed (well, to Shuichi...Taiki knew) that Ashiya Mizuki was a girl. Ashiya is sent back to America.
- After Mizuki is gone, Shuichi’s attention gradually turns towards Taiki. Again and again.
- 2003: Three months before graduation Shuichi and Taiki end up fooling around.
- Three teens are attacked at Ohsaka. Taiki is involved in an incident at that he tries to hide from Shuichi.
- Shuichi is recruited into the J2 league immediately out of high school. He takes college classes in his spare time but mainly focuses on his soccer career.
- Taiki moves to Tokyo and begins a degree in folklore from Todai. He works part time for Mr. Murasawa; a man with similar abilities and interests. From ages 18 to 23, he all but self-destructs: Alcohol, sex, neglecting himself...The only thing that gets attention is school and Shuichi.
- 2006: After 3 years everyone from Ohsaka reunites at Sekime’s wedding. Shuichi complains about having to rent an apartment in Tokyo when he’ll only be around a couple months out of the year because of soccer. Taiki offers to let Shuichi live with him, instead.
- Ashiya Mizuki marries Sano Izumi.

- 2007: They eventually move past the “just roommates” relationship after about a year of living together.
- Shuichi is bumped up to J1 league and then to professional soccer. His and Taiki’s relationship continues to grow.
- Taiki graduates with a degree in folklore. He continues to work for Mr. Murasawa and is often sent abroad on jobs.
- 2007: Four years after they graduate Taiki (22) learns that a little girl he knew was killed. That evening Sano and Mizuki visit for dinner.
- 2008: Five years after they graduated, Mizuki has a baby. Taiki gets a call in the middle of the night with the news.
- While going through Shuichi’s suitcase Taiki discovers that the athlete carries a picture of him.
2009: Shuichi accidentally gives a revealing interview. The world is abuzz that their favourite soccer player is gay.
2009: Six years after they've graduated Taiki's (24) father passes away. The man leaves more trouble than anything in his passing.
