"There." The project finished, Taiki sits back in his seat and admires his handiwork. Two short legs swing in a burst of spastic happiness before he slides off the chair, running to the entry closet. There's a flurry of hats, mittens, scarves, jackets, and shoes but not ten minutes later the six (and a half) year old is marching down the street. He's watching the creation carefully, making sure it doesn't tip or break.
Somehow the unsupervised six (and a half) year old finds himself down around Lisbeth's half of Swepan. Abruptly he pauses, right in the middle of the sidewalk. Debate. Where she lives or where her mom works? Or the bench in the park? Where to leave it...? Eventually he goes to the shop where Lisbeth got him an apple -- no squirrels or dogs or people would eat it if he left it there.
An anonymous little boy leaves a black plate with a doughnut snowman on the shop counter and then turns and walks out. There's a note that says "To: Lisbeth" and nothing else. Hopefully someone will pass it along...
Mmmm, doesn't that look appetizing? Especially when put together with sticky six (and a half) year old hands. But it's Sunday -- which is apparently doughnut day -- and it's also Christmas time. Two doughnuts for the base, a doughnut hole for the head, pretzel arms, peppermint patty hat brim, and a Reese's candy at the top. Nothing says Christmas spirit like arts and crafts.
