The first thing he was aware of was that his entire body was throbbing. Furrowing his eyebrows, Taiki let out a soft groan and shifted under the light blanket, burying his face further into his pillow. He didn’t remember drinking enough to warrant this kind of morning after...but then as he thought about it, he didn’t really remember much of anything from the night before...Just being pissed and quite possibly more than a little hurt. But it was his birthday, and he hadn’t been there...he’d broken his promise to Taiki. An irritated sigh slipped out and he pulled the covers up and over his bare shoulder, fully intending on sleeping the entire day away. And quite possibly the next.
Curling into a ball he winced, one hand moving to his lower back. Just what in the hell had he done the night before? God, his entire body ached and every movement aggravated his already raw nerves. And he would shoot that damn bird if it didn’t stop squawking right outside the too-bright window. It was rare that he’d drink, but last night had been an exception...
There was a soft sound behind him and before he could turn something warm slid around his waist. Letting out a small choked cry, Taiki jerked out of the embrace and tumbled ungracefully into a tangled heap of sheet and blanket on the ground. A stab of pain in his hips and lower abdomen stole his attention momentarily and he let out a groan, doubling over until his forehead hit the mattress edge.
“So much energy so early.” His blood ran cold and black eyes snapped open, staring at the blue blanket twisted around his legs in dread. Please God, anyone but him... “I can think of better things to do with all that vigor.” That smug voice brought with it snippets of fuzzy memories from the night before...The bar, the phone call he’d received, more alcohol...Then there were hands everywhere, harsh breath against his cheek, slick skin, a warm body and mouth...
Squeezing his eyes shut he tried to force back the bile that was rising at an alarming rate. Shit, shit, shit... The bed creaked and Taiki violently shoved away the arm that had draped around his shoulders. “So cruel!” The arrogant voice teased and two fingers trailed their way down his neck, following the path of the jagged scar. “Is that any way to treat someone who takes care of you?” A hand wrapped around his right wrist and the green-eyed demon tried to pull him back up into the bed. “I won’t even get offended if you call out his name again.” The emerald gaze glinted in dangerous amusement as Taiki’s head snapped up in shock. What a horrible, dirty aura...Such malice that covered the lust and enjoyment directed towards him.
His stomach squeezed and he jerked out of the grasp, pulling the sheet up with him as he stood. Stumbling around the edge of the bed, he ignored the sharp pangs in his lower body and snatched up his discarded clothes. “Stay...We’ll close up the curtains and spend all day pretending the people who we love, love us back.” He nearly had his pants buttoned when Akito wrapped his arms around Taiki’s waist from behind.
“You don’t love me; you want to play with me.” Breaking out of the embrace, he pulled the black tee over his head and began the hunt for his socks and accessories. His scarf was draped over a lamp shade, one sock was underneath the chair, both rings (why had those come off?) were on the night stand... Akito merely waved a dismissing hand at his soft spoken comment, once again moving in to assault him from behind with groping, clinging, draping arms. The warm breath against his neck made his hair stand on end and he jumped when wet lips found his earlobe.
“Just stay. This is the third time over the past couple of months...you need it.”
