But it just seems to happen. It really isn't as easy as it once was for me to write a post. They don't allow me access from work anymore. When I get home, I don't want to be on a computer. And I don't like hanging in my home office anymore than necessary. It still is a mess. I don't seem to ever get a handle on that room. The mess is mainly paperbased and maybe that is the starting point. The floors were redone last year so that's up to speed. The built in desk is slanty and not as functional as I had onced hoped it would be. The Shelves are really more than is needed, maybe reduce the number of them. And the computers... too many computers. The mac mini needs to be moved upstairs or into the media room. My movie library is no longer expanding, so the mini doesn't need to be in here. As long as it can get on the network, it can be moved anywhere. The work from home station needs to stay, so I can when I need to. Then there is the laptop. Yes it can go anywhere, but I don't work off my lap or non work station. I don't need an elaborate setup for my personal PC, but at least 1 monitor, keyboard and mouse. So that has to be worked out. AND LESS CORDS!!!!!! I can't stand cords. So I'm looking into new counter tops from IKEA. And my building techniques have gotten better over the years so it will be more stable with no slant. I have dad's cheap side tables/ nightStands which I plan to use for storage as well as desk support - I do love double duty multi-tasking furniture. There are so many things that need to be done to the hardscape of the office. The Frustration has always been money. So I did everything on the cheap. Made do with the things around me even if it wasn't going to be long term, it now has become long term.
What do I want/need to do for the office Redo?
- New desktops
- remove Mac Mini from the office.
- Less cords
- Reduce Shelving
- Repair Walls
- Go through File Cabinet
- Scan what needs to be kept
- Get Monitor for Laptop
- Go through all the boxes on the shelves
- Go through both Side Tables
- Paint the side tables
- Take the hard drive in to get the missing data out of it
- Update modem
- Go through the Trunk full of Empty (equipment/electronic) boxes.
- new lighting
- new curtains
- New window
I want to clean this office up and update it so when I go to sell that it is a selling point not a ding to the bottom line.
I have many things around here that need that kind of attention, and I don't intend to break the bank. But I think this can be done for less than $1000 and really make a difference in my life and for future buyers.... But mainly my life. I have got to stop avoiding this room. Yes, there will be pictures. I just have to find a better photo host than photobucket. Maybe, it's me... or amazon. So many thoughts, so many ideas, somany things to do... So little time and money. Oh Yeah Energy. I don't have the energy to keep up with my head.
