Projects Update... I've been so bad about the updates

Well, I have bee ever so slowly working on the garage.  I've been doing things in passing and not focusing on it like I thought I would.  Because as the old addage goes: Shit happens.

I come across a great product or an opportunity to get something fixed that's been on the back burner for a very long time pops up and jump on it.  Only to create more projects for myself.

It's a vicious circle.  But as vicious as that circle can be, when I start making some progress on any of it... I just start knocking things off the To-Do list, and some things that should have been on it but I never got around to putting them there.  For instance My Garage door openers.  They have bugged the hell out of me since I moved in.  Here's the story:

I bought this house in April 2000.  It has 2 electric garage door openers.  I was given 3 garage door clickers.  1 - 2 button and 2 - 1 buttons.  Here's the kicker the 2 button clicker controls 1 door.  I never know which button is the active one until i press each one a couple times.  Both of the 1 button clickers operates the Jeep door.  They are beat to hell - held together by duct tape.  They don't work for crap.  I have a Keypad outside that will open the Jeep door.  And it works intermittently (I think it's bad batteries).  I have to carry 2 bulky clickers if I want to be able to open both of the garages or I have to open the one garage - get out of the car - walk into the garage and push the button - go back into the car and then come into the garage.  I tried reprogramming the clickers.  I tried getting a universal remote with 2 buttons.  I tried getting one with 1 button.  Nothing would work.  The problem?  One of the opener's receivers is Canadian.  No universals matched both receivers.  And 14 years ago, I couldn't find replacements for it even with the internet.  So I just learned to live with it.  Even when I had 2 cars... it was an even bigger pain. I then lent out my single opener and now I don't have any for that side but the button on the wall. But I let it go... Until last week.

So I'm Pricing Replacement keypads just in case it's not the batteries and I come across some universal remotes.  I buy a couple to replace the duct tape clickers.  And I also find something else.  A new receiver.  The same brand as the one on the Jeep side.  And I also found some factory clickers... With 3 buttons.  So I ended up buying 2 universal clickers - 1 receiver - 2 factory clickers.  For about $75 I have all new remotes and everything is working the way it should have 15 years ago!

In the first image you see the 2 jeep side clickers (Rose has the Other door's clicker) and it's "visor clip" which doesn't work on either one of them.  The old receiver and an old keypad that I kept so I could remember what to re-order.
In the second image you see 1 - 3 button remote(the other is mounted in the car already) - a small keyfob universal remote with mounting bracket - and a single button remote(universal).  On the 3 button remotes on programmed all 3 buttons.  The side buttons are the same on both remotes - The +(left) button opens the left door & The -(right) button opens the right door.  The middle button on each remote opens either one door or the other.  The Black remote opens the left door and I'll swap that out with Rose and the universal, well... It's a spare.

I'm pretty excited that everything works.  I need to pick up a couple of 2032 batteries for the keypad to see if it will work. If it does I'll use it for the left side garage.  If not I'll toss it.
Either way, I'm tossing all the other Crappy clickers/clips/receiver.  It's all about things working like it should.  And now it does!

I can't believe everything worked like I planned - It's not normal.  My Plans never work.
