Well, I just wasn't that motivated...
When you feel like crap, It's very difficult to get anything done. But me being me... I did get something done on the Coffee Table Bench Project. I made a left turn in my plans and went a different way. I decided instead of doing a very schlocky job of upholstering, I thought of a slightly better idea. I would remove the vinyl from the mattress to expose the Foam and springs. The Vinyl was icky and annoying so I wasn't so sad about that, I wished I'd done it sooner.
I then put the foam inside an allergy cover for crib mattresses, which holds everything together.
The last layer was a Crib sheet. I have some little garters that will hold it firmly in place. I will be putting velcro down to hold the mattress in place and I will be done. I'm sure a little batting would do wonders, but I think having the ability to change out the cover to any color or to wash easily is a better trade off.
all I need to do now is Velcro the mattress to the table. I love the little shelf underneath. perfect for Baskets and such.
