But as I waited for some responses from my recruiters and such... I kept myself busy. I cleaned the fish tank somewhat. Where I can't tear it down for cleaning because of the babies... I was able to take the filtration system out and de-nastify it. It was Gross. I knew it was going to be. I could hear it having issues last night, so I knew what my priority home-chore was going to be. Then... even as my previous blog entry said I wouldn't... I did. I went out and mowed the back yard. I used the push mower and fought with about 3/4 of the back yard. That's all I did. I did it for the dogs. It isn't fair to make them go out there in that jungle to do their business. Besides with all that rain, mixed with tall grass... that is a recipe for chiggars. So I took care of it.
Though while I was mowing... I got the fright of my life. When you have 3 dogs, it becomes habit to always walk with your eyes mainly pointed towards the ground about 3 feet ahead and always scanning back towards my feet. As I reach the fence and start to make my turn left, I see something wedged between 2 pickets at the bottom. I stop so I can focus my eyes and IT MOVES!!!!! Of course I yell "AHHHHHHHH!!!" and then I recognize what it is and scream it "TURTLE!!!!" It all happened at once you see. Then Here comes Dollie at full speed to save the day... Then she sees it what I'm screaming about and stops, Looks up at me like "That's ok you can have this one." I scare it so it goes back into it's shell, then remove it from the fence. There is no telling how long it had been there. I know that last monday as I was leaving the house, I found a turtle in the road in front of my house. I stopped the car, picked it up and took it across the street to my yard by the front flower beds. I'm thinking it was the same one. Well, it is now in the back behind the fence... in the tick farm.
I'm hopefully going to be able to clean my bathroom tonight before The NCIS Premiere. Rose would never let me live it down if I missed it.
We have only been waiting for this for 4 months!
gotta keep moving.
