the numbers above are a little deceiving as are the ones below. Above what you have is all the caches that I have in my data base that pertains to Georgia. It is an honest attempt to gather all the information on all the caches. Some get omitted and some information is missing and I am filling it in as I go. Also the Trads include all the miscellaneous sizes other than Micro. Because we all know that if it's not chosen or other... it's probably a micro. i used to read every cache page to determine if it was a micro or not. If the words Bring your own pen or Can only fit a log... then I would designate it a Micro. But I don't do that anymore.
Now as for the below numbers... this only represents Physical caches. No events or Citos. and I am missing about 700 container sizes ... I work on filling in that missing data in my spare time. It also gives me a chance to check if it's active or not.
as for the findings ... well what I see is that there are too many micros. We have been hovering around 50% for about 6 years. Not a pretty picture.
Good thing I have changed my attitude about caching. I look for a challenge... I like the mountain caches. they make me move my out of shape large-ass around and give my lungs physical therapy. But anything with a 2/2 diff/terr rating is a possibility and anything higher than that surely catches my attention. I have even figured out a couple of puzzles...
So this isn't another rant against Micros. I really don't care. If people feel that is geocaching... than I feel sorry for them. While they are looking at the garbage compactor or electrical box behind the local Walmart... I'm looking at waterfalls, rock formations or Mountain Vistas. Life is too short to miss those opportunities.
I'm just saying.
