I have slowed done a BUTTLOAD on the house projects. I really don't want to spend the money aaaaand I don't want to make my life any more difficult than it already is. But I have to do the TV over the fireplace thing. I really don't want to. But it needs to get done. It is holding up other things that need to get done. Like the gym, media room and moving the dogs out of my bedroom. I don't want to explain why it just is, trust me. I have been really scared to start this project because the first step is a biggee. I have to cut a very large door size section out of the drywall. It is a point of no return step that I can't take just yet.
So since alot of the problem is about money, I need to see what I can do about that. I have about $80 of Lowe's gift cards in my wallet. I got a $5 off $50 coupon while in Louisville and I have another $10 off thing too. So if I hurry up and use those coupons and gift card, I should minimize my out of pocket expense. At least for the materials. I still need to get an Electrician to come out and give me an estimate on the wiring... I want it to have it's own dedicated circuit.
I will do the running of the speaker wires myself... I just need to find out what the longest subwoofer cable is. I want all wires hidden.
While the electrician is there I will have him install a whole house surge suppressor as well as wire for security lighting on both sides of the house where there is none. We're talkin' some bucks here, about $750. But I think it will be worth it in the long run. I feel the surge suppressor alone will pay for itself down the road. I think the insurance company will give me a break on my premiums for it. And the security lighing is just a necessary thing in this day and age.
