That February 22nd 2008 is one of my favorite days.
As I was riding home on Friday (Lyon was Driving), I got a call from my Dr.'s office. I know it wasn't going to be her, she only calls me to tell me to go to the hospital. But it was a Nurse. Not even the PT, but the Nurse. That's a gripe for another day. Anyhoo....
She called to fill me in on my test results. And I am pleased to report that I am not clot prone. I do not have "Sticky Blood". What happened to me was what I refer to (and my Dr liked my description) "A Perfect Storm" of happenstances. All the things - Lets say 10 things I could have handled 9 out of 10 things all at once and been fine... But that 10th thing (the medication) triggered the clot-tastrophy.
I do not have to take blood thinners anymore. I do not have to worry about every little pain. Though, I will not mess with the chest pain thing anymore. I will continue to eat more fish and take the fish oil omega 3 every day. I will try to lose the weight., For more reasons than this. But it should be my main focus. So it will be.
I'm pretty lucky I know. And I appreciate the second chance. Now, I have to stop depending on luck and just make things happen. Like my health. I have a head start, I need to run with it.
health,
good news,
