Camping in the North Gerogia Mountains - Saturday...

Was a blast!  Yes there were a couple mishaps, but all in all it was a great time.

Saturday morning I left with the Dollie Llama around 9:30am heading for Lake Rabun.  the trip up was uneventful except for the Gas price signs I spied all the way up to Tallulah Falls.  They Started around $2.69 in Oakwood and crept down to $2.56 by the time I got to the Camp Grounds.  Now I totally made note of which was the cheapest and planned on hitting it on the way home.  After a couple of wrong turns, I made it to the grounds around 11:00am greeted by a very happy and relaxed Old Geezer.  I pulled into one of the spots he had reserved and started unloading the car.  I hooked Dollie up to the Lantern Pole with a 35' lead and started building camp.  Johnnie and I fussed over my tent and had nearly everything together by the time Allen and Robert pulled in.  After all our camps were up and running, we sat down for lunch and got all caught up.

After Lunch we decided on hitting the trail visiting Angel Falls and getting a cache.  Here is my Log for Heavenly Waters.  What a great Hike!  It surely worked out my tired fat legs.  Dollie on her first major hike was a pro.  She lead the whole way, keeping her leash just taught enough to know we were wtill behind her and laid down to rest whenever we took a break.  Once we got to the top she crawled out onto the rocks and drank from the falls and even let me splash her belly with the cool water.  She was a real trooper!

After dinner we all sat around the campfire and gabbed till around 10:00pm.  Then we split off and headed off to bed.  Dollie and I didn't get much sleep because Dollie was not used to all the outside noises and smells.  She was on alert all night long.  Growling at anything that didn't sound right.  Hey it's her job, so I wasn't too upset.

That's pretty much it for Saturday.
