I made a list. A list of things that I could get done if I just focused. I didn't focus. But in my defense, things don't always follow the plan, Which Doesn't mean resourses are wasted, just redirected. I came home determined to deal with the aquariums. Wanted to. Need to. Meant to. Even Planned to. Didn't. I noticed as I was feeding the dogs that there wouldn't be enough to feed both dogs in the morning, so I jumped in the car and raced to the vet to get there before 6:oopm closing time. Made it in time. Dropped $102.50 on 70lbs of food (which is about 6weeks of food) and home I went. Fed the babies. Started on my dinner,Which was Grilled Pork Chops and Corn on the Cob. Now, When I grill out, I grill a bunch extra so I have stuff to take for lunch. I cooked, cleaned up the kitchen and grill area, ate dinner and read my mail. Put the dishes in the diswasher and proceeded to reorganize an old photo album. It was a project I had been meaning to do for quite some time...and finally completed. I then took the frames that were sitting on the kitchen table downstairs and put the Walk The Line Postcards in them. I searched for one of Kay's customers home phone numbers on the internet and then Updated my Movie database so that I could actually get them off my office desk. Cleaned up some of my email and then Took my clean clothes from the laundryroom upstairs. I then filled the Dog Food bin with one of the bags of dogfood and put the bag on the steps (to go downstairs on the next trip down). Bout that time it was time to go to bed. I felt a little better about things. I didn't get done what I had intended to, but I the time wasn't wasted. I was able to cross some things off my master list and that made me smile. Things are still piling up, but I am trying some different tactics to help.
I actually have discovered Lotus Notes. Now, I use it everyday at work for e-mail, I have never used the scheduling calendar thingee. Until today. I put in all my dates for stuff and it is a relief to get those things out of my head. I am also scheduling tasks to be completed. AAaaand I am using the todo list for work items so I don't forget them. So, I have made a small step in the right direction. And I can actually breathe a little easier now.
This may sound trivial to some, but I don't want to miss anything. And I don't want to waste any more time.
