Murphy's return and other tales...

Guess I should have known better than to think that my problems with the truck would be over when I got it back with a tune up and ignition troubles fixed. That was $450+ - then came tire problems that resulted in buying two new All Terrain radial truck tires - another $300+. If bad luck timing wise comes in three's I don't want to know whats ahead! Enough is enough.

On to other events - today has been a rest day of sorts - at least in so far as it can be when I start midnight shift tonight. Main projects of the day have been messing with a laptop to get my preferred Linux distro - Puppy Linux - running on it and the wireless connection working. Successfully I might add. Being a natural where procrastination is concerned occasionally can be a good thing - A version of Puppy optimized for this particular laptop was released last week! Saved considerable fiddling with things like drivers and ndiswrapper - more playing with this one is in order. Other big project of the day was copying my Fleetwood Mac Tusk album to the computer - I forgot this was a two LP set and it took quite awhile to do but was worth it - haven't listened to this one in years. Just for grins I'm going to try burning a CD of the result to play in the truck.

Started making a pot of ham and beans last night - that stock was surely a nice smell to wake up to this morning. The beans are about cooked so once I'm done here it will be dinner time and then a nap before I go to work. About all for now - I'm hungry and the soup is calling.
