The phone is quickly picked up, and a chipper-sounding young woman's voice answers, "Gotham Police Department, this is Stacy, how may I direct your call?"
After a moment's pause, Stacy's says, puzzled, "Uh. One moment please."
*click!* Ringing noises! And then the phone being picked up again.
"Major Crimes Unit, Bullock speaking." The tone of the voice, rough even on the best of days, is that of a man who thinks whatever's going on now isn't funny, but is making an effort to be professional anyway.
"Hi, Sweetie, I've got a terrible cold, so you'll have to excuse the voice." Heh. "But, really, there's been these weird flyers up in the city, green, with a line from Milton on them and what looks like biblical references. It's a code, I think, I worked it out, and someone is going to set a fire in some warehouse. I know it's vague, but I didn't think the cops would have the time to look into it. I don't have anymore."
There's another pause. One might imagine that Bullock was staring, baffled, at the receiver in his hand. Scratching noises follow, pencil on paper, Bullock's still slightly baffled and annoyed voice softly muttering the occasional word he was told as he writes them down.
"Got it. Who the hell is this, anyway?" He doesn't really necessarily expect a real answer, but figures he may as well ask anyway.
Still, he adds the mention of the border to what else the tip contained and starts making some calls to put some uniforms out to patrol the warehouse district and find some of those posters. After that, off to go tell the Commish what's going on.
