Jensen, Michael has been an orderly at Arkham Asylum for five years, which makes him a long-timer. He's dealt with almost everything before. (Almost. The themes and costumes are kind of new.)

But he's certainly dealt with hunger strikes before. S. Garoux in room 210 is being problematic. Typically, hunger strikers are loud about it, because a strike doesn't work without publicity, at least among their neighbors. Garoux's been quiet. He accepts each tray, picks the food apart, and loses half of it on the floor and the other half down the toilet. Once he suspected, Jensen's watched him on the monitors three times; he drinks the water, and milk if it's there, but doesn't take a single bite. Not a crumb.

The next meal he delivers, he brings a fellow, and the two of them linger in the hall. Simon doesn't eat any more under direct observation than without it, but he takes greater pains to hide it. It takes him an hour to give them back an empty tray.

There's a protocol to follow. He makes notes in Simon's file, and makes sure he gets milk with every meal. He adds a multivitamin to his morning pill regimen. And he flags an alert to the superintendent and whoever is stuck as the cannibal's therapist.

MEMO: ALERT SuperHouse, DoctorGiles

Patient S.Garoux (room 210) hasn't eaten since Thursday. Still drinking fluids, multivit.

And after that, it's out of his hands.
