Lovely office this man has. Nice and clean, all the paperwork is stacked and filed properly. Lovely catch to the window too, doesn't take long to unlock.

It would be difficult to gauge exactly how long he's been standing in the gloom when the owner eventually arrives. But it's necessary- he has so many questions. So many questions with very few ( Read more... )

See Felix? This is why you don't forget your house keys at work.

...because random, faceless strangers will be waiting for you in the dark. Of course, that's logical. This is Gotham after all. Either way, Fix is going to just walk right in like he owns the place (which he does) and go to rummage through his desk.

"If you're looking for your gun, Mr. Wilder," yup, he's doing that gravel-voice thing that Batman loves so much, "the distance between your desk and my foot isn't that far."

"I'm looking for my house keys." The calm, confident voice, doesn't quite cover the fact that he jumped a little when he heard someone else speak. "And, I know full well where my gun is: locking in a gun safe, like you're supposed to do."

Must we play these games, O possibly Batty one?

"It is a good thing. Vile things," he growls dismissively as he steps into the light, illuminating his- well, lack of face.

"I have a few questions."

"If I could get by without, I'd be more than happy to, but I can't swear that I can, so, there's that." Aha, there are his keys. He's going to slip them into a pocket and continue to play it cool. Maybe time to have a seat at his desk chair and motion that Mister NoFace can sit as well? Let's all pretend this is just a normal day at work.

"Many people do. What do you think I can help you with?"

"I'll stand. I have questions about the Batman," sure he could look in the newspaper. It's more convenient, saves gas and there's the oppurtunity of doing the crossword on a rainy Sunday. But then he wouldn't get to break into someone else's property and scare the crap out of them. The Crossword's are too easy, anyway.

"I hear you're particularly good with providing answers."

"That's the rumour anyway. Did the rumour also mention that I usually get paid for my time and hard work?" Felix isn't really interested in opening a casefile on the Batman, but he'll listen to whatever is said.

A roll of banknotes thuds on the desk. Thorough rumour, no?

"He's organised. He has money. Some kind of combat training. That much the press can tell me," No-face thumbs his no-chin, "Even with training and funds, he should be dead by now. He must have contacts, accomplices, allies. Question is, who?"

Now you've gone and worried him, Mister.

"That...that is a lot of money, but, I've gotta be honest here, I don't fancy getting myself killed, beaten, or whatever else the Bat'll do to someone looking into him." Unless your threat is better, Felix is probably going to keep his own council on matters.

This is going to take a while, isn't it? Fine, he'll take that seat. It will give Felix a good view of the Pseudoderm mask, shifting with each move of his face.

"Killed? So you think the murder accusations are founded?"

Aww, he's going to have to work. It's a shame when you meet someone in Gotham with morals -- even if they are a little loose around the edges.

"Honestly? I don't know. I know that some of the people he's tangled with would kill me. Why do you want to know?"

There are so few- usually they can either be bought or beaten. He's tried one and doesn't feel like the other. Vic Sage isn't used to resorting to alternative methods.

"I'm counting enemies, and I need to know whether he deserves considering." That, and he's been out of town. It's nice to catch up on your local celebrities.

Felix takes in a breath, leans back, and considers the man(?) in front of him.

"What do you consider an enemy? No offence, but I try and keep myself well away from the stranger people in town." That would be you, Mister. "As far as I know, and this is what I know and not what the rags are printing, the Bat generally does The Good Thing, often The Right Thing. 'Course, anyone who gets taken in or down by him is going to make him out to be bigger and badder than he actually is."

He's not so much worried about the Bat physically as he is cerebrally. He had been ruthlessly effective since his inception, and that required either unparalleled genius, the Force, or most feasibly- friends. And whilst the very notion sounds absurd, he hasn't been seen since he was blacklisted by the cops...

"Contacts in the MCU, perhaps? City Hall? No, not close enough." He's so deep in thought that the questions come without context. Still, The Good Thing comment seems to have somewhat satiated his concern.

"What do I call you and now, what do you want me to do?" Even if it doesn't do him any good, Fix is planning to listen out for more information on the Batman. He'd suspected that someday, someone would ask him, and he had worked out how to decline the offer. Of course, he'd expected the potential client would have a face.

(Did he mention that that no-face thing is profoundly unsettling?)

Come on, he asked for it, right?

"Aha, now that's a good question," he wags a finger, "I want his sources. Who he goes to for information. Modus Operandi. Equipment." Just the works, then? He's not entirely sure what all the information is for, yet. Reference, he guesses. A weapon, potentially. Perhaps a way of making contact.
