Daniel had made the decision to put in his two week's notice even before the revelation -- or the massive practical joke -- that "Rameses" in Eddie's chatroom whom he'd talked to a few times was apparently Adrian Veidt. As in, Veidt Enterprises. And that he'd asked Daniel to send in his resume.
He'd made the decision to quit working at Arkham even before that, and started shopping around for other jobs. So... one more resume wasn't a big deal, right? It wasn't like he was hanging all of his hopes on some tenuous internet lead.
He sends the email, resume attached, and includes his chatroom alias among his contact information.
He has very little idea what he'll do if it turns out to not have been a joke.
