"Well. Yes. Obviously." He doesn't mention 'what if he's boring?'. He smiles brightly at Ali.

"So, are you and the Captain okay again? He went to see you, right?"

She blushes faintly. "We've...worked a few things out, yes."

He grins. "Good for you. I was worried about him." He moves to giver her a hug. He was worried, and his nerves were doing crazy things.

She likes hugs. "Why were you worried about him?"

He hugs her, then. "Well. He was being very...not-there. And.." self-destructive? "not right to himself. Being harsh. Victor was there, as well. I felt bad for her, too. So, worried all around." He smiles softly.

She leans against him tiredly. "What was he doing? And why were you worried about Victor?"

"Wanna sit down?" He rubs her shoulders softly.

"He was doing stupid things, things he'd regret later. And he'd cut himself on something, so there was blood, and a glass fell down and Victor was uncomfortable." He bites his lip. "If you think he's going to be mad at me for telling you this, er, don't mention it, please?"

"Please? I'm exhausted."

She listens with a frown. "Don't worry, I'll make sure he understands why it's a good thing I know when he's being an idiot."

He walks over to a chair with her and sits her down, then sits down on a second chair. "You seem to be rather cold as well. Is that the exhaustion speaking?"

He smiles. "Good. As long as he doesn't stab me for it, you do that."

"Want me to give you a massage again?" He raises an eyebrow and smiles.

"Freezing too. It's magic gone very very wrong." She curls up in the chair, arms wrapped around herself.

"A massage would be great. I won't let him stab you."

He nods. "I can get you a blanket if you want? I've enough in the closet."

He nods again and stands up. "Want to lie down? It'll be warmer as well." He strokes her hair softly.

"Please? Just please don't let me fall asleep. The nightmares..." Well, she doesn't want to talk about the nightmares.

"Okay. Yes. I'll keep you awake." He holds out his arm for her to hold, then guides her over to the bed. It's warm to the touch.

"Okay. Want me to tell you a story while I work my magic?" He smiles softly.

She pulls off her shoes before crawling into his bed, under the blankets, and claiming a pillow. "Aren't stories part of your magic? Yes please."

"Technically, yes." He kisses the back of her head. "Just a manner of speech, hon." He puts his hands just below her neck and starts massaging slowly.

"What do you want to hear a story about?"
