With only 2 weeks left on my tourist visa, and much hard work trying to find a job here in Berlin with no success, I had lost hope, and a lot of sleep.
Today I was offered a freelance job in Berlin doing what I love - building a software QA organization in a start-up with intelligent and fun co-workers. No, it isn't full time, but it will be enough, and will allow me to stay in the only place I've ever felt remotely "home".
There are still hurdles to overcome: convincing the delightful German bureaucracy to give me a work permit/visa, etc. But these problems have been solved by others and I can pay professionals to help me!
So me, with my 2 suitcases full of shoes, books, and a MIDI controller can stay!
Thanks to all of you who have sent me good wishes and thoughts and luck and encouragement. It has meant the world to me and I *know* it made a difference.
There is still something here in Europe I'm meant to find. Something that has been drawing me here for years, but I know in my heart I'm finally in the place I'm meant to be.
Everything around me feels so unreal and is infused in a luminous glow. I'm crying tears of immense gratitude.
Time to get busy! And to sleep. Finally.
