Slip Away

The world is so cold a bitter it’s people icy and heartless. Our society has lost all hope. You cling onto the edge of our world hanging over an abyss. Sometimes you just want to slip away
Slip away from this world of torment and hate
You just want to lay there separate from the world in an eternal dream. A dream where you’re happy and nothing else matters. As you wait for sleep to come the cold stealthily sets in. “Never end” you plead “I just want to slip away”
Slip away into my world of dream and light
Yet day breaks and so dawns a new light. You walk slowly behind as the world speeds past you. No one looks back. No one notices you, but you look straight into their eyes of ice. There’s no hope left, yet you still cling on the edge, but why It’s so easy to let go of the edge over the abyss and slip away.

Slip away into nothingness

Author's Notes
This is the fourth and last poem I wrote during that week I was home sick, and I was on a roll with my depressed juices strong and kind of forced this out, I knew as soon as I finished, that was the problem, it was too forced, but o well.
