I get asked why I tour as much as I do, it's something nearly every interviewer feels the need to ask. The answer is simple - I love it.
I remember the first time I graced the stage, the feeling of nausea in the pit of my stomach, the inability to speak much less talk, then the music played and I closed my eyes, lost in the beat, the words. The nausea still visits, but now it's more of a rush, the lights, the music, the atmosphere the crowd brings with it, and the way it changes from venue to venue. It commands me.
In time, who knows - maybe I will tire of it, burn out, fade away. Right now, I love the way I can lose myself on the stage. Right now, that's all that matters.
