My first adventures with Art Songs and Christmas

Dec 30, 2007 12:02

Well hello. The deadline for postmarking my audition for Syracuse on video is Jan. 1 and I am recording it today. I picked the songs two days ago. They are:

Die Nebensonnen by Schubert (German)
Au Bord De L'eau by Fauré (French)
Ave Maria by Schubert (Latin)
Excerpts from Scenes from an Italian Restaurant by Joel (English)

I've never really done anything like this before, but it seems pretty good.

Oh, and I saw the Dresden Dolls last night at the Orpheum. Very interesting. I really enjoyed it. They made up for Amanda's illness and lack of voice by doing all sorts of crazy things with special guests. It was cool.

Oh and Christmas. Here are a few of the things I got:

-iHome Silver!
-John Mayer Concert DVD
-Bed Bath and Beyond Gift Card
-This is your Brain on Music: The Science of a Human Obsession
-Music, the Brain, and Ecstasy

-A small trash barrel
-A lovely red sweatshirt
-Dresden Doll Tickets
-A Blue Sweatsuit
-A Western Style Tuxedo Shirt and Tie
-A white board/message board
-A bathroom tote with soap and shampoo etc.
-An iron and mini ironing board
