Character Name: Janie Taylor
PB: Keshia Chante

Personality: Janie is usually bubbly and optimistic, and she loves to
have a good time. The woman can be known to be a prankster and has a
love of music. When asked about her family and powers, she usually
clams up and tries to change the subject. She doesn't want to talk
about her past. She's a huge romantic and tends to unintentionally
flirt with almost everyone.
History: Ella Mae Morton was fourteen years old when she had Janie.
She was unmarried and her family tried to hide her and the child from
friends and neighbors. Ella claimed the father of the child was Robert
Taylor, a man from up North who was on an extended visit, and who
wanted to take her away to live in a better place.
The family traveled up North, not heard from again until Janie was six
months old, and ended up at home of Sarah and Alonzo Potts. A note was
left in her basket, explaining that the family was coming on hard
times and would fetch Janie when things were better.
Franklin Potts was five years older than Janie when she came to live
with the family. When she was sixteen months old, the young child
wanted to get rid of his new sister and 'wished her into the swamp'.
For three years he was afraid to tell his parents that, because young
Janie had indeed disappeared.
Janie, at that point, was in Coopers Town, The Commonwealth of the
Bahamas, in a faster moving time stream. There she learned to speak
French and lived with a family who was more than pleased to have a
little girl.
She then bounced back to Florida, three years later. She was older
than she should have been, but Sarah and Alonzo noticed a family
resemblance and happily accepted her back into the family. Rumors that
her mother had done the same thing as a child were often whispered
among family members, and Janie pretended not to notice.
In 1923, the day Rosewood was burned, Janie traveled to 2009. After a
bit of culture shock, she discovered she liked the time period. It
soon became apparent that returning her to the people she considered
family was not possible, and she prepared herself to live in the
twenty-first century.
Soon after arriving, however, a woman claiming to be a relative of the
girl took her to live in an isolated town in Africa. There she
learned to hide her ability from everyone, and that what she could do
was a very bad thing. Janie managed to escape a year ago and has been
trying to make a way for herself since. Shes starting to get used to
the idea that her mutant powers aren't as bad as she thinks they are.
Power(s): Janie can effortlessly travel in time and dimensions. She
has a healing factor, and no longer ages.
What bring them to Fortes?: (At least one hundred words.) Janie
escaped from her 'family' and got an apartment in the city. It was a
terrible place that didn't have water half the time and she could hear
everything that her neighbors did. She had a job in a tiny shop,
where she got paid a small amount of money. it was just enough to
live on and she was almost happy. It all changed one day when her
'family' tracked her down. They came to her store, and to escape she
had to use time travel. A long battle later, she returned only to
find out her job was gone because she was a 'mutant'. Her apartment
was rented out to new tenants and Janie found herself all alone in the
world. Someone handed her a flier, and she decided to come to Fortes.
That's when she got lost again. She wasn't in a terrible place, but
missed the independence she once had. When she got lost again in
time, she knew that the friends she made would soon forget about her.
Now that she's back in this time, she wants to be in Fortes again.
She wants to be somewhere that she belongs. Kind of.
