an excerpt from an email i got today (in response to one i sent a day or two ago):

catherine,

thanks for the lead. i'll follow up on it. i was at the dentist the
other day, reading the new yorker and there was this gorgeous, moving
little poem in it, so i ripped it out. i felt sorta guilty, but i loved
the poem.
