92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons...)
Short answer? Because the alternative was dying young at the hands of the Combine. My dad tried to keep me safe, give me a 'normal' childhood despite everything, but at some point I realized that his position in the Resistance meant that I would always be a target no matter what I did. So I started learning how to defend myself so that I could stay in control of the situation, and the rest is history.
74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
It's too easy to say 'anything I can get my hands on', isn't it? Well, okay, that's not really true. I like nonfiction in general, especially science texts. And hard SF, Clarke, Asimov, all of those. (Although, as someone who's worked with robots all her life, I can tell you that Asimov's Three Laws are bullshit--but that's another rant for another time.)
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
That I never quit fighting. Ever.
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
I've got a couple of numb spots on either side of my ribcage, right alongside where that Hunter hit me. The nerves didn't heal up quite right, I guess.
51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
*long silence, then:*
I can't kill Stalkers. It's not a matter of not wanting to--I just can't. It makes me sick even thinking about it. I know, intellectually, that it's a mercy-killing, but no matter how many times I tell myself that, I can't silence that little voice in the back of my head that says that could have been me. And I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger.
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
People willingly getting body mods. I will never understand that. Ever.
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
You're joking, right? I'm the third most wanted person on the planet, right after Gordon and my dad.
...I guess that means I'm the second most wanted, now.
71. What is your most treasured possession?
The necklace my mom gave me for Christmas when I was two. She made it herself. It's the only physical object I've got left from before the Incident.
70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
Playing with D0G. Building stuff with Legos. Tinkering with D0G's circuits. Basically, anything where I get to make stuff.
See above.
