Ranting (A Minor FanFiction.net Update)
I shouldn`t even be boasting about it. Just a minor overhauling with the main page and reading through the published bits. Getting annoyed by finding all the typos after several times of reading the stuff through.
I`ve been thinking about the possibility to translate my HP-fanfic "Lies within The Family" in English. At least, been thinking that I should fix the grammatical errors of the currently existing version, only to find myself too exanimated to do that. I`ve also been thinking about stripping down the fic "Neljästi, Malfoy", because I haven`t been able to bring it out the way I wanted. I`ve felt my hands too tied to finish it properly: bringing a new, self-created character to the scene and pairing her eventually with Draco Malfoy woud probably make her to be a complete Mary Sue. Just like Lord Voldemort feared the possible appearing of the man, who would finally take him down - he eventually created this nemesis out of Harry. The same was with me: how I feared the Mary Sue -issue so badly, that now even I, the author of that >beep< fan fic, detest the character of Tiiti Holopainen. Die, b###h, die!
Ranting does wonders at times. I guess, someday, I`m gonna re-write that whole story more or less from the scratch - at least reforming the main heroine and her family. Not every foreign kid who enters Hogwarts should be categorized as an automatic Mary Sue.
Meanwhile, I`ve been reading some HP-fanfics (mainly Harry/Draco or Hermione/A-Slytherin-male-character), but also been working a bit with a completely new fic called "A Chance to Debate" that should turn out to be entirely compatible with the Epilogue of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. I really intend to finish it, and that means I won`t publish it before it`s written to the last word of the last chapter, in order to prevent the enhusiastic blindness to the most obvious grammatical errors.
I know, you may or may not be eager to read it, even if for this time I`m writing the story in English. But now, at the end of this posting, I want to remind that I have plenty of other things to do than just my fanfics (and -vids), so it will take some time before the fic is done. Also, I don`t like to be pushed, because my creativity and accuracy with the details suffers from such things. Obvious failures with the details - like claiming that Ginny was possessed by Voldemort`s Horcrux (in other words the events taking place in CoS) during her second year - are blasphemy! (Been reading such... -.- Grrr! That happened during Harry`s second year, which was Ginny`s first at Hogwarts!)
End Note: HP-Lexicon has certainly become my more or less frequent visiting place during the past spring.
