Argh...what a month.

So, let's see. Basically, the semester laid the smackdown on me. A good time was had by all. That's the short version.

The following content has little semblance of chronological order. You have been warned.

Finals week wasn't so bad...so far as actual finals went. My psychology test went a lot better than I thought it would (or, at least I think it did.) My only other test was in my economics class, which I think went decently as well. I had a couple of half-semester classes, and a couple more that were solely dependent on papers/projects, so no more finals for Aaron. Those papers, though...phew. Much props to Nate for his 24/7 preparedness to make coffee and/or muffins during that ordeal.

Yesterday, Nate and Kala had a little post-graduation deal-thingy. The combined assembly of their respective families graced us with their presence. Speaking of Nate and Kala, they're engaged. Ha! Got you there, reader. I'm a groomsman. It should be some time next September.

There was a surprise graduation party for one Mr Trump...also a surprise birthday party for John Gibson...and a history department Christmas party...and the Murray Place Christmas gift exchange (I got Ed, and was gotten by Katie)...Shy's birthday party...Bryn's birthday party...and I suppose I was just a partyin' fool, because I also went to the Tooth & Nail cast party. There I met Ms Jessica Norwood, who I actually thought was someone I'd met the previous night at the history dep't party. We ended up talking anyway, including the dodging of awkward turtle moments. Good times...

Oh, Tooth & Nail! It really was a fantastic show. A solid bet for "best show of the year." Some really great performances, and just a good concept all in all. It's a ensemble-written play about South Africa during the collapse of apartheid, presented in fragments of varying tone about different groups of people. It has some comedic parts, but is largely dramatic, and even has some singing and African step dance. Jonathan Awori, who directed, was in one of the earlier performances of it in Nairobi. I was at first worried about their choice of space, which was the small actor's studio we use for festivals and such. It was lavishly used, though, and a lot of things were done with it that couldn't have been done elsewhere. In an interrogation scene, for instance, the audience has to turn around to watch it unfold in the tech booth. I absolutely loved it. The only bad thing about using that space was the lack of seating; it sold out for all six performances.

I also saw the MIFA film festival, and actually was in it a little bit. GatOrDie featured "New Favorite" in the fest. The trailer for Partner's Tale wasn't up yet, but Gibson had another good little bit ready...I'll link to it below. I also went to see a Calloway County High School production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), which I thought was a great script. Several of the actors mumbled a lot, so it was hard to follow at times, but a couple of them, like Valerie Crowder, did spectacular jobs.

I missed out on the annual church trip for the dinner-theatre at Chaffin's Barn in Nashville, because I was two weeks off on when it actually was. This also meant that Nate, Kala, Matt, and Angela had to miss out on it too. I don't think it would've worked out even if we knew the right date, because it was the Saturday before finals week, and we were all ludicrously busy.

Vitello's pizza is amazing. I went there, with Ed as my server, with Jeri Lynn (who now goes to Western) and Nate's ex-girlfriend Em. Random.

So, apparently, the new Dean of Libraries has been spending $500 per week for the past month at G's Comics (the [terrible] new name of Warlord's). That's what my sources tell me, at any rate.

For ten days, I was blessed by the presence of John Spurlin in my home. I hadn't seen him since May, so that was pretty cool. It was probably a little distracting in the week before finals, but I think I'll live. We played some Arkham Horror and were generally comrades.

Speaking of Gibson...well, I mean, I was earlier...watch this. It's hilarious.
