A violent, rapid, thorough hit or defeat; a rapid, flattening and shattering experience. Often used of the impact of life on bank balances, weather on cricket and work on sanity.

The 'violent rushing sound' of life vacuuming notes, coins and any positive balance from wallet and accounts.
