The Shins- Wincing the Night Away
Wow! What a great LP. The best Shins yet in my opinion. Great, great, great in every way. Also, we got to see them in concert which was awesome!
The Shins- Sea Legs BUY IT NOW Black Rebel Motorcycle Club- Baby 81
Another great record from the BRMC guys. So much talent and great song writing. I have been able to see them live now a few times and it is always a great show.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club- Took Out a Loan BUY IT NOW Interpol- Our Love To Admire
Another band that seems to do no wrong. We have had a hard time listening to anything else. We got to see them live this year as well.
Interpol- Mammoth BUY IT NOW Angels of Light- We Are Him
I just picked this up about a month ago and have not been able to put it down. I love every song on here and just adore Gira's vocals. Can't go wrong here.
Angels of Light- Not Here Not Now BUY IT NOW Whites Stripes- Icky Thump
I am glad that there are so many great bands that I can rely on to continue to put out such awesome work. This is another one of those bands. I think all of their LPs I have thought, "Hmm this is different" but after a few listens, it is still White Stripes.
White Stripes- You Don't Know What Love Is BUY IT NOW Extra:
Radiohead- In Rainbows
I think most everyone has heard the hype on this one and if you did not download it, well, I think that you should. You get to name your own price for starters and it is an amazing release. This was definitely the best download for '07 and definitely deserves a mention here. The actual really real CD comes out in January 2008 I believe. There was an extra release of other songs that did not make the cut for In Rainbows which I hope will see release in some form.
In Rainbows is no longer available for download but you can still get the more expensive but totally cool discbox here. Please note that there are many releases that I am sure that I missed but these were the ones that stood out for me out of what I was able to buy.
Best show of 2007 without a doubt was Roger Waters. I did not see many movies this year but recently saw No Country For Old Men and loved it. It can be pretty gruesome though.
2007 also saw the return of the comic book to my life. They never really left but I found that I could get graphic novels from other libraries in Georgia and so I was able to read quite a lot of them. The
JUSTICE series was among my favorite reads as was
MAUS.
