"I miss sleeping on my side," Alanna tells Puff, as she awakens for the third time this morning. The first, Adam had stretched leisurely, squeezed her hand and gone to take a shower. She had been asleep again before he turned the water on. Next thing she knew, he was bringing her breakfast and helping her to get her own shower. Hair still damp ( Read more... )

Possibly the relatively sudden weight on the foot of her bed shifts her at least a little.

Possibly.

Though if so, it was entirely accidental.

Raven is just very heavy.

It is the clay.

Behind her book, Alanna winces.

Raven is indeed very heavy. Alanna is not, however, going to call attention to this lest someone claim she is going soft.

(There's never any doubt as to the identity of said heavyweight. After knowing Raven for a certain amount of time, you get used to these things.)

It's just that her feet are so sensitive lately, and he managed to sit on the corner of one.

"You've been eating too many eyeballs," Alanna admonishes with just a hint of strain.

Raven blinks.

"Mostly, I think, it is cookies."

He looks down, possibly studying his own ass.

"There is not enough padding, perhaps."

"Usually it goes the other way 'round when someone's taken to eating all that much, savvy?"

Jack's leaning in the door now, grinning.

"Hello, luv. That dragon-pet of yours is a wicked fierce little thing when she's on the guard. Hope you don't mind I brought her a spot of rum."

It's a normal day in the bar.

"Oh!"

"Ouch."

"What was that?"

"Excuse you."

Normal except for the small green dragon waddling and flapping her way over feet and across tables, disrupting food and conversation, intent only on reaching Lucy.

Babiesss, she hisses at an unfortunate patron who tries to pick her up. One warning from golden eyes, and he backs away.

She arrives at Lucy's door without further mishap, and calls to the twins: Twinsss. Get your Human. My Human isss spawning.

YES MAMA.

I'LL GET HER FIRST MAMA!

NO, I WILL!

ME!

WATCH ME!

"Oof," says Lucy eloquently, as twin purple dragons jump onto her lap. "--My dears? Something wrong?"

YES.

MAMA NEEDS YOU.

BE A GOOD HUMAN.

...Lucy can figure out that the tugging means they want her somewhere and lets herself be pulled to the painting, stepping through a moment later.

And looking down a moment after that.

"--Hullo, Puff. Something up?"

Puff nods, or maybe it's just a trick of the light. Gaze unwavering, she takes two steps back and looks somberly at Lucy, her neck resembling a bunched up accordion.

When she feels the seriousness of the moment has been conveyed, she trills to the twins and flaps into the apartment.

Possibly between Lucy's legs.

Help explain about my Human. Many babiesss. The Tall Pale One doesn't know when to ssstop.

She pulls a towel from the bathroom and begins mashing it into something resembling a nest with back feet and snout.

Lucy--is still blinking, as her dragons settle into curled up balls in the nest.

Lucy isn't the best at charades, but she has a nagging feeling Puff might be here for a reason, so she's paying close attention.

It's a beautiful day, really, and the fresh air is refreshing. Not that their room isn't lovely, but one does get a little claustrophobic now and then. There's a rock near the shore that he thinks Alanna would like, and he picks it up, examining and smoothing it a bit before putting it in his pocket.

He'd bolted down the hallway into the bar with unseemly haste, jerking to a stop as he entered the bar.

From there, Jack had sauntered casually across the room to the lake door, and stepped out.

The second the door swings shut behind him, he's running again, straight for the shore.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADAM!"

Adam, if he'd known, would be QUITE sure that the denizens of the bar were thankful for his casual saunter through the bar proper. As it is, he doesn't know, and it's only at the screaming of his name that he turns around.

PIRATE. TWELVE O'CLOCK.

Jack spots him, and comes racing down to the water's edge, his arms windmilling violently for balance as he runs.

"ADAM! YOU! ADAM!"

Upon reaching him, Jack comes to an abrupt and swaying stop. Gasping for breath, he begins waving his hands about in an impromptu pantomime as he attempts to describe what's going on.

Oddly, it almost seems to be set to accompaniment from the castanet-like rattling of the beads and coins in his hair.
