I just applied for my dream job for this year in marketing. This is from the job description:

  • Maintain and update website using the self-managed content system
  • Update OurBrisbane.com, Facebook and Myspace websites with upcoming events
  • Maintain and update the databases including marketing Powermail, media and VIP databases
  • Coordinate inbox (emails from patrons) and event RSVPs
  • Compiling initial information and records for marketing departmental reports
  • Undertake research on upcoming artists and events
  • Maintain the display of street press distribution point and box office display
  • Back-up to reception during receptionists absence (ie. meal-breaks, meetings, leave)
  • Assist as required for specific opening or gala presentations by organising hospitality, liaising with external hirers and providing support on site during the event
  • Assist the Marketing department with other projects as assigned
  • Assist Publicity Coordinator with Media Monitors, clipping files and event listings on external websites

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Systematic and analytical approach to tasks
  • High level computer skills with database experience preferred
  • Time management & organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a quality focus
  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as being a keen team player
  • A professional and positive attitude and strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • General interest in the arts industry
