Fandom To-Do List. Things, not people.
First--thank you to my lovely f-list for all your support during the past couple of weeks. It's been quite the rough patch, but there's always the next day to hope for, right? I had a lovely day today downing a six-pack in the park on a blanket under a tree with a good friend, with burritos and gelato afterwards, and feel refreshed, renewed, and very, very full.
I have a lot of writing to do, as well, and thought I'd lay it out here so that I can wrap my head around it and also have you all hold me accountable for all these things I need to do! Don't let me dilly-dally; I need to get a move on here!
IN-PROGRESS FIC I AM WRITING THAT YOU NEED TO PRESSURE ME TO FINISH
- "Doors": a Mal-centric Firefly fic for lulu_42, my help_japan auction winner! IT IS COMIN' ALONG, BB. I have about 1,200 words of this one, looking to be around 4k. THIS FANDOM IS VERY HARD TO WRITE FOR. All their dialects are incredibly specific, and I lost a ton of notes I had taken when my harddrive was wiped, so I'm sitting here watching Serenity for the 800th time with the computer in my lap and a notebook at my side to jot down any ideas and research. SATURDAY NIGHT NERDTIME, Y'ALL.
- The last chapter of "A Purpose for Numbers": Seriously, I last updated in like, August. And it's the last part. I need to get it done, but not slack off on it, either. Give it a good ending that it deserves. This one was one of the best, most rewarding fic I've ever written, and if I half-ass it, it'll only be a disappointment. OH SELF-IMPOSED EXPECTATIONS. WHY U SO HIGH.
- "Drive Me Home And Back Again": a FFVII Reno-centric fic that deals with the plate-drop incident. Heavily themed around the Deftones' song "Passenger," and will most likely involve Rude, and a lot of sex. THE FANDOMS MAY CHANGE, BUT THE COMMON THREADS ARE THE SAME, LOLZ. I'm pretty sure the only people who will read this fic are notraffic and deadcellredux, and maybe thatreevesgirl, but then again, I am writing a GUNDAM WING MULTI-CHAPTER about FIFTEEN YEARS TOO LATE for that fandom.
- Untitled Kakasaku: for the AU contest that I signed up for, which may have possibly been a mistake, because LAWLZ I HAV A LOT 2 RITE ALREDEE but I'm all for some community building and writing about Kakashi and Sakura in hot military uniforms and tellin' each other to drop and give me fifty.
I think I needed some time away from writing Naruto (even though the manga has really been awesome lately, and OMG SAKURA IS SO COOL, OH MAN), but my burning love for Naruto will always engulf me in friendly flames of hot, fiery passion.
