Ohh, thank you so much for writing this! I haven't seen a new 1x3/3x1 fic in forever! With how few new fics at all appear these days, it's no wonder, I suppose, that most of them use only the big, popular pairings, not minor ships like this.

It's the dysfunctionalness about the two of them that makes it so hot, I think. It comes through in almost all the 1x3x1 fanfics out there; that they are drawn together exactly because they both have so much issues. And it makes for an electric and raw atmosphere. Like Trowa being afraid to move, because he fears that Heero might stop what he's doing and go away.

Is this intended as post-EW, btw?

Thank you for reading! 1x3 is probably the pair I'm drawn to the most, even though I think that Trowa's character has always been the most interesting to me, and I think I enjoy pairing him with almost anybody. notraffic and I used to be on a mailing list for 1x3 fanworks, and I think we both still can't let go of that pairing in particular.

I'm writing a long fic called "A Purpose for Numbers," which is set in a post-EW sort of world. I intended for this to be part of the last chapter of the story, but I decided in the editing process that it didn't quite fit, but it could be a piece on its own, or a companion piece.

I feel like I'm writing fanfic of my own fanfic eh heh heh *embarrassed*

Ohh, I've spoken to notraffic at length about this pairing, after I started fangirling her fics. I haven't seen her around lately though.

There must have been some pairings in that fic that I didn't like, since I haven't read it - unless it was something you wrote quite long ago? I tend to skip right past anything 1xR, for instance, and there were some hints of that at the end of this fic, so I'm guessing that one was involved in the main fic this piece was originally intended to be a part of.

notraffic and I actually knew each other for a few years before we randomly went to the same college together, and we found out by coincidence who our "online alter-egos" were. I think both of us go in and out of the fandom, but we eventually make our way back, always. :)

Actually, the fic that this is companion to is 6x3 mostly, with some 6x13 thrown in the mix. The first time 1xR is mentioned was actually in this piece here, but now that I've taken it out, I'm not sure if I'll even have that mentioned in the main fic. I usually am not drawn to 1xR, either, but I will read anything of any pairing that is well-written.

Your times on the 1x3x1 ML must have been before I discovered the pairing - perhaps even before I discovered the fandom. that wasn't until 2004, so I never got to see GW in it's heyday. And it took me two years I think before I came to understand the hotness of pilot number one and three together.

Now that you mention the pairings, I think that I perhaps started reading the first chapter, but was pulled away by something else, as it was quite long, and then forgot about it. I'm getting a déjá vu. I'll look it up again.

No pull like that of some really good smut with one's favourite pairing, huh? =) I'm almost getting some inspiration to write a bit of fanfic myself, again. I fear that I've lost a lot of the details in the time that I haven't been active in the fandom, only an occasional lurker. G00 pulled me in there for a whole. Some seriously hot child soldiers there too.

I had big hopes for that fandom, the anime has so many of the things I love about GW. But there's even less activity there than in the GW one, these days, What's your favourite pairing in that fandom? NAllelujah/Setsuna? ;)
