Homeless for now.

Went back to the apartment, where everything was wet and covered in mud. The waterline that was visible on the wall and on my couches (both ruined, filled with mold and mildew) told a story around 1 1/2 of water in my house. Some things floated from one side of the house to the other. It smelled like mildrew and shit, and I slipped 2 or 3 times on the floor. I don't have any shoes.

Some friends came out to help, and I'm indebted to them. I thought I was going crazy. I didn't know where to begin. All my original work was ruined. Everything was covered in water. Workers came to rip out my carpet and clear the mud off my floor, and ended up ruining more things in the process. A friend took pictures of the damage. I wanted to cry, but knew it wouldn't solve anything.

We worked tirelessly all day. I managed to clear my room out, we cleaned most of the water-damaged furniture, set it to dry outside, and then brought it back in, shoved to the only dry corner of the house. You can barely hear yourself think over the industrial fans. Can't run more than two, or the fuse busts. Friend took some of my things. Roommate is driving back home, a 10 hour drive.

I had to throw away my bed, my futon cushion, my dresser, my couches, and about 80% of my belongings.

I need to find a new place to live tomorrow.
I've honestly never been so scared in my life.
