Last night was one of the best community-feeling Rock Band gatherings I can remember.
slyefox wasn't feeling great, so he wasn't as interactive early in the evening. Even the pugs were exhausted by the humidity, so the mood was droopy. He turned on the air conditioning and things started getting better. Somehow the healing powers of Nordeast Grain Belt cured him completely though, so by 11pm, things were humming!
Cat and Molly K were there when I arrived, then
marioche69 . We next enjoyed the company of Angelo and Betsy, who brought Angelo's latest masterpiece (possibly life's work), the second half of the bar mural. Look for pictures on
goobertech.net later! Then Joe and Laura came, and we started the birthday celebrating!
lisianthia 's whiskey cake was delectable, as usual.
damncutekitty brought me glitter to decorate fancy sick-bags for the last Rock Band I attend before moving, and we talked about jobs and bravery and being persistent. I recommended LiveJournal to Molly K, so we can keep in touch, so we'll see if that goes anywhere. Kept in touch with
adamlazlo through texts, but kept getting distracted by singing on Rock Band. David Bowie was fantastic fun, but Angelo's version of "20th Century Boy" by T-Rex was my high point of the evening. Insanity!
Now to get my heaviest day of work over with (I'm at 44% for the week completed, now), and take the driver's training class tomorrow, so Friday will be a light day. Woot.
