Yes, it's mostly the stereotypes and taking out of context that really throws me. If I hear one more person quote that women should be submissive to their husbands I will not be held accountable for my actions. And I always figured that Jesus would be the kinda guy to walk into bars and talk to people trying to drown their problems away, maybe break up an occasional bar-fight. I don't like it when people try to sissy-fy him, because yes, hello, son of God and all, but he was also a carpenter back before there were power tools. I'm thinking he could have pounded people's faces in if he'd really wanted to. I'm sure he didn't clear the temple by asking them politely to leave.

It's actually strange that I still like Bible discussions and such, as I've gone from being rather religious to not very religious at all. I used to teach Sunday school, VBS, and play piano, and now I do not even attend service. I guess I've just gotten a bit too cynical.

Wow, your mom sounds really cool- not only for taking the time and effort, but also for having fantastic taste!

No comment meme for me? T_T (You could even pick the icon based on your art if you want to! I just finished it, isn't it pretty? Of course it is, because you do awesome work!)

asjkdfl I was like, "I know this is a really long reply, but I still feel like I'm forgetting something." And then I found out my work hadn't been keeping track of my hours and was iffy on paying me, so I hit "post" and went to deal with that. I will definitely meme you (and reply to everything) when I get back from work! So sorry!!

Yeah, funny how the guys leave out all the (pretty heavy) admonitions to husbands... And, yeah, I definitely agree that's how Jesus was. He's pretty cool, and I highly doubt he likes how some people have characterized him.

I'll be the first to admit that Christians and the church are often terrible advocates for Christianity; it's really easy to get burned out, especially in churches that don't act on what they preach. Fortunately, broken people don't change the compelling true message. But, yeah, I hear you on the cynical thing. People can be very off-putting.

My mom is awesome. She's actually been reading Secret Garden to my sister (who hadn't read it), and I've been dropping in to listen. I love it.

Aaaaaaand *drumroll* the MEME! (so so so sorry!)

a) Haha, it was the gauntlet toss! That was so much fun!
b) Kanda’s tattoo. I actually had to go back and check that it was on your journal, but even if I didn’t really notice it, it entered my subconscious in association with you. XD
c) You’re really encouraging, and you come up with crazy awesome ideas
d) Your photo montage of your hair as you migrated around the bathroom looking for a good backdrop. XDD
e) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
f) Ahh, all my friends have such good icons it makes it hard to choose.
makes the art history dork in my squee. XDD
But the icon above definitely merits a mention because it's the first time I've seen my work icon-ified, and it makes me a little giddy and excited. You did a beautiful job!

And somehow my question for you didn't make it into that, even if I totally had one for you. I am just full of fail tonight. D=

e) How many colors has your hair been (like, ever in your life)?

a)Romonov, yesh- I swear when we saw your cover our jaws dropped, and there was stunned silence for a while, it was just that good. We fangirl you (in that completely not-weird sort of way XD).

b)That...actually makes me rather gleeful ♥!

d)I laughed myself silly after; it was rather cracky, wasn't it?

f)That icon actually came about in 20 minutes during an AIM conversation with volatilesublime; I'm actually strangely proud of it! (You can use it if you want to :) No one's ever icon-ed your work before? I'm rather surprised- I'd icon most of it if I ever got around to asking permission. Want me to make you a set? I love making icons for friends! (Edit: yeah, I had a DUH! moment right after posting this because you always use a blank icon ^^;; Offer's still open though, if you wanted to hand them out to friends or anything!)

e)You got me thinking about this one, and geez. I've lost track. My mom wouldn't let me dye my hair until I was 18, and I think ever since then, I've been making up for lost time! I think...probably less than 50 but more than 20? Maybe 35-ish? I was born with strawberry blonde, it changed to blonde, then darkened to brown. I've had red and blonde highlights, shades of black, shades of blonde, different blues, a nice lavender, a gazillion different reds (my favorite),vaguely purplish, and one memorable occasion where I (mostly) accidentally ended up with fluorescent pink. It's actually really close to my natural color right now while I'm trying to grow it back out- I'd almost forgotten what it was supposed to look like!

a) It was hilarious fun to do that cover. I totally fangirl you guys, too--I love art challenges! &hearts

d) But cracky = awesome so it's great. XDD

f) I would totally use it if I used icons. And you can use whatever of my art you want to for whatever. I'm really laid back about all that stuff because it's fanart, and there's no way I'm making money off of it anyways. So go ahead and icon away! I'd love to see what you do. =D

e) Wow, that's pretty crazy! I love reds! Do you dye it at home, or do you get it done at a salon or what?

f)oh, this is going to be so much fun! Thank you!

e)I usually do it at home, I think I've only had it done at a salon twice. The first time was when I got my first highlights, because I'd never dyed my hair before and had no idea what I was doing, and the other time was when I did the blue you saw in the pictures. They had to bleach all (and I do mean all) the color out of my hair first, it was white by the time they got through, and then put a base so the blue would stick, it was a silvery lavender color. There was no way I was going to try to do that by myself! Mostly I work out of a box though, I'm particularly fond of the Feria; it works very well.

f) I look forward to seeing the results! =D

e) Wow, hardcore! Sounds like it can be quite the process! I'm not keen on bleaching my hair, though, so I've only ever dyed my hair black--and that was for cosplay. XD But I will keep Feria in mind if the occasion ever arises. And I do so love good dye jobs, so long as they're not on me. I think it's really cool.
